I am aware that they do that, but that's part of the point of the game. They are more of flying above the fighters rather than on top of them. It's useful since you may need to use one of them as a shield to protect against nearly impassable waves of bullets. It's also useful since only one assistant can be used at a time and there are other fighting assistants rather those for extra weapons and shields.

So why not have the option to control where they are? Kinda like the familiars in (I can't believe I'm saying this) Deathsmiles?

There will be some where you could actually do that. Just not at this moment. But there definitely will be, as well as those where you can control things like their attacks.

I believe it's just a comparison, no need to be so guardian over about it, MM.

Likely, yeah.

I'm now working on the Kyoko-type as well as the stage for it. It'll be found in the Strike Witches universe and several of the 501st wingmen as Witches would be the bosses. Here's is my current set up for the stage.

Final Boss (Witch Nexus)

WN-100260 Kyoko-type:
Enemies
Enemies are created by the Witch Nexi, based on the Strike Witches, Neuroi, and the deadly sin of Gluttony. Other enemies appear when encountering a Witch.

Bosses (Witches)

Gertrud Barkhorn- Image
Melissa
The Bullet Witch. Her nature is of loneliness. After what happened to her sister when she was still a magical girl, she is convinced that she will never find anyone else who truly feels as a friend to her. The only ones who ever wander into her barrier are those who wish her harm or those whom she feels she cannot be friends with. The only thing that can possibly end her rage is to finally see her sister alive and completely well again, and then she will finally be ended.

Minions, Harry
Minions of the Bullet Witch. Their duty is to pose as guards and escorts. The large guns they carry are given to them by the Witch. If you are to be shot by one of them, even if the wound eventually heals, the pain might diminish slightly, but it will never completely go away. Despite their lively appearance, these minions are actually under the Witch's control and they have no free will of their own. She is aware of this, and because of that, they don't help cheer up her loneliness.

Extremely powerful, she can summon various weapons to her hands that fire specialized bullets capable of piercing even the strongest armor, and she can also change her size at will. Her red energy-based body is invulnerable except for at the massive Yellow Octahedron, which is her core. Should that be destroyed, she will die instantly.

Her barrier resembles a Karlsland Army barracks/training compound and city, but with no vehicles, and the place looking very distorted, as well as the "sky" being all black with red lights in places.

(concept coming soon)

The Witch of Leadership with a dutiful nature.

Yoshika- Image

(concept coming soon)

The Medicine Witch with a pacifist nature.

Eila- Image

(concept coming soon)

The Fortune Witch with a questionable nature.

(concept art coming soon)

HN Leila (Lydia)
The Night Witch who has a nature of getting lost. She is trapped in long-lost memories and flies slowly around her barrier to find her way. Her loud noises are made to get attention from a certain somebody and monitors radio messages to find him. She often goes out during the night.

Minion- Signa
The minion of the Night Witch with a continuous order of sending messages. The Witch hopes that her messages would find the one she is looking for. Her messages are often received, but are distorted and the receivers don't know how to respond.

Could you please use spoilers for the drawn image of the boss? It looks nice and all, but it's a bit big.

Just did it, but sometimes, it doesn't seem to help when showing it.
