I have a couple Questions Zax.
First of all, I noticed that you are adding quite a lot of stuff to this try project. Do you think Fraxy is going to be able to handle all of this memory, because this is obviously going to be a lot of megabytes total.
Second, do you suppose you could use this?
Its a template I made for laser shots that when they pass by your side, they make a 90 Degree turn. Similar to ones fired by bosses such as Rexion Core and Titanic Lance. I made this for one of my future bosses, but you can use it if you want too.
Here's the template for you:

Third of all, I had a few neat ideas for bosses in this. Do you think you could add a boss to Project G like any of these?
The boss will be similar to this boss, Blind Guardian/Big Core, which is at the end of this stage of this Gradius Game, GR3, like in the video below (the boss appears at 2:20). The boss will have a similar concept, but still fit in with the storyline of Project G.
Basically it will start as a massive and heavily armed enemy ship of some sort. The battle will span a decent amount of time. Then at the part when you think you've finished it, and the ship is now heavily damaged, suddenly a massive Shrieker Machine grabs it with 4 mechanical arms and corrupts it. The second part of the battle then becomes a fight with the Shrieker Machine, with the previous armed ship now stuck onto it and being almost like an extra appendage or figurehead on the machine. The corrupted ship randomly spews lasers out of its damaged cannons, while the machine fights you in any way it should. Perhaps you could add a part where you can destroy the attached ship on it early on for extra points, but if you destroy the machine too, the ship goes down along with it.
It will be similar to the boss in this.
Another one for an idea in Project G. This one uses a similar concept to that one, but with a different style. Also I made this boss as an early Fraxy boss long ago. but you could probably use something like it too in Project G.
This boss is from the boss rush of Gradius Gaiden, and it was called Parasite Core, but it has two Deathshell Cores alongside with it. It also modifies its attacks depending on the way you destroy it. It starts as one, two, or three enemy ships flying by as the intro, but then they all are suddenly captured and corrupted by a much larger shrieker. The fight begins, with the boss being a massive Shrieker or Shrieker corrupter vessel with the three other ships being attached onto it. The Shrieker itself fights itself while using the corrupted ships as turrets or something for it. If you destroy one of the ships first, the Shrieker attempts to replace the ship with a different hidden arsenal. However, if you take down the Shrieker first, the corrupted ships break free and then proceed to face you individually. You'll have to destroy them all to finish the boss, but the order in which you do will make things different.
It will be similar to this boss below.
Another idea. This one will be similar to the Grabber Core boss of Gradius Gaiden. The boss will be fought in a Junkyard-type stage and is a large Shrieker Ship with multiple long tendrils. The boss flies around, and tries to pile scrap onto its front as makeshift armor, and also uses its powers to pick up the heaps of metal and throw them at you sometimes. You can destroy the scrap, but there's so much of it that it keeps finding more. It also shoots at you. It might make a very challenging type of boss in the way it fights you.
This one will be similar to the boss seen at 1:44 in this video below.
