Welcome to the Test Level...
As you may not notice in still pictures, the town in the background does have a parallax effect.
The Clouds up there, actually move too.
Pressing the Dash Button, lets you dash backwards. This is made for evasive maneuvers.
Pressing the Jump Button while ducking lets you slide. Made for maneuvering under low ceilings/objects.
Here is an example:
Jumping is lets you go up to 3 to 4 blocks. You can control your direction while mid-air.
Attacking while grounded stops you in location, unless you're in mid-air.
You get pushed back when you get hurt. But gain 1.5 seconds of invulnerability.
Of course, you die when your HP reaches 0.
The blue projectile is an Auxiliary attack. This is Type 1, a fast projectile.
It is like an normal attack, but it releases a projectile.
Type 2 is an arcing projectile.
Type 3 is a ground-crawling projectile. It moves along the ground.
Type 4 is bounces off walls.
Type 5 is a slow projectile. It does continuous damage.
Type 6 is not an actual projectile. But rather it is a barrier that protects the player for 9 to 10 seconds.
It does not protect again physical attacks(may be changed).
This is what I've worked on so far...

I see what his inspiration for the idle/walk stance was.
That said, this player sprite looks incredibly disfigured. Especially head/legs. The entire section of the torso/arms remind me suspiciously of Terraria.

Notice the lack of revolting features.
Drac's sprite looks like the sides of the head are bald, the hair looks like a strip of bacon on top of the head, the legs sort of noodle into the torso and what the hell is that thing on his belt. Is it rags of a blue miniskirt or is it a rubber band, wrapped around his right leg?
Overall I can just advice him to simplify the sprite. Many of the features he has put on it (Like a mouth) aren't even necessary on a sprite and he seems to have drawn it that way simply to make it deriviative of his usual drawing style, which does not work well at all in sprited form.
