Not all scoring purposes are good

And scoring in a shmup should be balanced, not just 'throw everything in'

The reason why i am still posting is because people tend to dislike scoring mechanics that postpones boss death/pattern change for too long, at least from what i know, correct me if i am wrong (It often referred as 'milking') ^_^

Milking is only annoying when youre watching a lets play.

Example. 80% of Rusted Dragon is a huge milking process.

You are not really played for score in your life, i suppose, or you are new to shmups o_^?

Rusted Dragon throws more patterns in, keeping things interesting for player if he goes for second phase, while in your case, boss stands on single attack for around a minute, keeping things boring for player if he decides to play for score

I'd like to point out that Scoring is not always relevant to gameplay.

Sorry, but most of people play shmups competitively, from what i know

That's why scoring system is important ^_^

No, scoring should be in harmony with gameplay, if one of them is unbalanced with other, everything will go wrong

If gameplay is better than scoring it seems that you're the only one disturbed.
