I have been developing this on Game Maker for a while now. It basically shows a Ship design (designed by me because why not) with two types of firing.
It's pretty simple, But I hope I will be able to fully develop it for the future games i'd hope to make.
I plan this engine to be at least a little driven by this small community, if you wish to check it out and suggest/add functions, get it Heeeerrrrreeee
(It uses the elements from the PRO version of Game Maker 8.0, I don't use 8.1 since it has a completely different file extension.)

I'm really digging what you have so far, visually. I haven't had the chance to download it yet.

Thanks, I did some spriting myself.

Just now I made the Interface elements separate sprites so they're easier to edit.

I loved the black zeroes on the score table - until you posted the screenshot that shows that they remain there even after you paste other numbers over them.

That'll change in the future update.

I've never touched Game Maker. How difficult is it to learn compared to...
Fraxy's boss maker?

Game Maker can use either programming code (GML)
or Drag and Drop.

If you understand how to use variables on Fraxy then you'll get hang of the Drag n' Drop mechanism pretty easily.
