Q: Well, what is this then? A: A forum RPG game, rebooted from the original Dragon Hunters. It's been simplified and now has a better story (hopefully), better classes and better balance!
Q: Great! How do I join?
JOINING DRAGON HUNTERS
Well, first of all, rule 1: Don't be a bot. Rule 2: Post with the following sheet filled out:
Username: Your username.
Character name: Your character's name.
Gender: Your character's gender. Male/Female only. This is actually important for certain events and/or mechanics.
Title: Your character's title.
Species: Commonly human, but you can be any humanoid species, as long as it's known (dwarf/goblin/kobold) or you describe it for me. This is purely aesthetic and will not impact the gameplay, though it will impact dialogue a bit.
Class: Your character's class. You can pick any of the base classes of the list below.
Stats: Here's where it gets tricky. Like in DH and DH2, you have stats to fill out. However, there are a couple of things new to DHC. You have 30 AP to start with. Each Point increases the stat by 1. You must put at least 1 into each stat.
HP: Your stamina. Run out and you're dead. Simple as that. You can't put points onto HP, but STR and CON influence it. HP = (STR+CON)/1.5 (ROUND DOWN) MP: Your mana. Run out and you can't use spells. You can't put points onto this either, but MAG and RES influence it. MP = (MAG+RES)/1.5 (ROUND DOWN) STR: Your strength. Influences damage dealt by physical skills and normal attacks. CON: Your constitution. Influences damage taken from physical skills and normal attacks. MAG: Your magic. Influences damage dealt by magic. RES: Your resistance. Influences damage taken from magic. Speed Factor: One of the things new to DHC is Speed Factor. Each Class has its own unique Base Speed Factor, which influences turn order. It CAN go into the negatives, but won't really have a penalty for such. Equipping armor or special weapons will influence your Speed Factor. Heavy Armor will heave a penalty of 2 for each piece equipped, while Medium Armor will heave a penalty of 1. Light Armor has no penalties.
There are 5 base classes in Dragon Hunters: Cross. A Base Class can select one of three Specialized Classes to evolve into at level 15, which will then evolve into a Master Class at level 35.
Warrior: A fighter to all ends and means, the Warrior goes the path of strength to show you that hitting stuff is usually the most effective way of killing. Of course, there are several ways to kill by hitting with melee, and so the Warrior has the most varied of all class upgrades. He usually prefers STR most of all. Bonus: Strength (+2 to Attack Rolls) Base Speed Factor: 8
Rogue: Rogues are the “scum of the earth”. They lie, they cheat and they steal their way to victory with various techniques, from backstabbing to poison darts. Of course, this means they are better off using STR, but MAG is also important. Bonus: Sharpness (+1 to Attack Rolls) Base Speed Factor: 10
Scout: As the Warrior and Rogue go up close and personal, the scout likes to take things from afar using its bow and arrows. They’re nimble and quick, but also on the frail side like Rogues. They use STR most of all. Bonus: Nimbleness (High Base Speed Factor) Base Speed Factor: 12
Apprentice: The Apprentice dismisses the direct assault, and prefers fighting with magic. Their intelligence is great, and they often strategize about what technique is best in each situation… or just blow everything up. Like most magic classes, their most important stat is MAG. Bonus: Intelligence (+10% Base MAG) Base Speed Factor: 9
Saint: The Saint shakes his head at the sinful hunters who don’t fight for the cause. Looking to God for a solution, the Saint helps the fighters with healing prowess and support. Of course, if he has to, the Saint has a wide variety of Light Attribute magic to hit with. To help with resistance, their best stat should be RES. Bonus: Wisdom (+10% Base RES) Base Speed Factor: 9
With that, you can now sign up! (not like anyone is gonna anyways)

Level 5 - Infinite dismissal Passive: user, active:user Cost: N/A Cooldown: 3 Warmup: N/A Passive Effect: Bob can counter enemy attacks randomly, but his counterattacks do no damage. The chance for this starts at 10% and becomes higher as he levels, and is uncapped. If Bob counters a physical attack, he will reduce the enemy's resistance to physical attacks for 3 turns, if he is hit by a magical attack, he will reduce the enemy's resistance to magical attacks for 3 turns, if the attack aimed at bob inflicted an effect upon him, there is a 50% chance the counterattack also will. This does not actually lower enemy stats.
Active Effect: Bob will counter the next enemy attack, taking no damage and dealing damage to the enemy(the % of HP he would lose from the attack, in enemy hp. aka if Bob would lose 10% of his HP, he will deal 10% of the enemy's HP, but this can never exceed 5%/10%/15%/20% of the enemy's HP, this increases at level 20/40/60), but his passive is disabled for 3 turns.
Level 10 - We shape our tools Passive cost: N/A Cooldown: N/A Warmup: N/A Effect: Bob can combine items and equipment together to create awesome stuff. If bob is wielding a custom weapon, he gains a signature landmark skill based on it.
Level 15 - Thinking with portals Active: single enemy/party Cost: 10% of MP Cooldown: N/A Warmup: N/A Active Effect:Uses portals to assault an enemy, instantly killing it, Bob can specify how this is done. (Open a portal on its neck and close it, open a portal below it...etc) Active Effect: Using this outside of battle teleports the party to a location that was already visited.
Level 20 - Assembly Active: ? Cost: 5 MP Cooldown: N/A Warmup: N/A Effect: Bob summons a random creature from )-2o90-( to permanently assist him, if the creature dies he gets 3MP back. The creatures are sometimes extremely grotesque.
Level 25 - Sentai Active: user Cost: 30% of HP Cooldown: 4 Warmup: N/A
Summons four mirror images who cannot take damage. Bob cannot take damage while they are active. Enemies realize which one is the real Bob if they attack him, but every time bob is attacked, there is a 50% chance that one of the mirror images will become the target.
Level 30 - Carnage Passive:user/Active:user+? Cost: 3MP and 1MP per creature, you can choose how many are affected. Cooldown:2 Warmup: N/A
Passive effect: Infinite dismissal passive now deals damage like a normal attack would.
Active effect: Bob gains an extra action for three turns and all creatures effected have +30 STR and MAG.
Effect: Deals damage equal to a normal attack TWICE on all enemies and gives them either "scurred" or "dizzy" for 3 turns. Scurred reduces any damage dealt by 20% and dizzy makes them have a 40% chance to attack allies.
Effect: All creatures, enemies, and mirror images 150% damage for the next two turns. Party members do 125% damage.
Level 60 - Creed of the old ones Active: single enemy/Passive: user Cost: N/A Cooldown: 5 Warmup: 1
Passive effect: Infinite dismissal now deals damage equal to double the damage a normal attack would . Bob gains a final signature landmark skill based on any custom weapon he is using.
Active effect: Bob attacks an enemy once for everything under his command + the number of other party members.
Young man wearing some epic cloak thing and a professional-looking combat suit.
One fateful day, a portal opened out of nowhere. And out of it emerged an entire civilization. They colonized a large part of the Land and lived peacefully, even though they possessed more power than most other humanoids. They engaged in trading and communication, but never revealed their ways or their powers. One day however, the dragons came, and after that, the ancients were no more. After days of struggle, a single man emerges from the ruins, scarred eternally and horribly wounded. He would dedicate his life to only one thing: revenge.

Hooray for recycled image ...oooooooooooookay the image isn't all that accurate at all. Here's what's changed:
The headphone, except the middle and the mic part, are covered by hair. Her dress really only goes down to a bit above the knees. (not shown: height is 4.72 feet and width is, uh, comparatively normal(as in not fat and not skinny)) Also eye color is yellowish goldish or something.
Additional info: She was called Halicon in the past because she forgot her name, and now her real name is revealed.
Level 10: Wave Blast(active) MP cost: 5 Cooldown: N/A Deals speed factor*level/5(round down) vs CON damage up to 3 targets.
Level 15: Illusion Speed(passive) At the end of every turn, unless dead, Melodi gains +1 speed factor and speed factor cannot be decreased.
Level 20: Extreme Speed(active) MP cost: 8 Cooldown: N/A Deals 120%STR vs 50%CON damage, priority +2(not like it matters though).
Level 25: Hypersonic Strike(active) MP cost: ALL Cooldown: 12 turns Deals speed factor*MP used/3(round up)+50%STR+50%MAG true damage on one target, all other enemies takes 50% of that damage.
Level 30: Perish Song(active) MP cost:N/A Cooldown: Once per fight All enemies will be dead after 3 turns, ignores instadeath resistance but not immunity.
Level 35: Illusion Power(active-passive) MP cost: Damage Dealt/10 MP(round up) Cooldown: 5 turns Passively doubles speed factor, affects Illusion Speed. Activate to deal true damage to a single enemy equal to (200%User's current Speed Factor - Target Speed Factor)*0.05*MAG. While the skill is on cooldown, the passive is negated.
Level 40: Mana charge (active) MP cost: N/A Cooldown: N/A Melodi recovers MP equals to her current level each action, can overcharge, but until MP is at/over maxMP, she gains 50%CON and 50%RES buff but she can't do anything, CON/RES buffs do not affect HP/MP.
Level 45: Final Cutter(active) MP cost: 20 Cooldown: 3 turns Deals 70%STR vs CON damage, hits 5 times, last hit targets up to 3 enemies.
Level 50: Keyboard Cannon(active) MP cost: 20 Cooldown: 2 turns Charges on first action, then deals 70%MAG vs RES damage, hits 4 times, last hit deals double damage, if target is dead, randomly chooses another enemy.
Level 55: Timespace Distortion(passive) At the end of every other turn, Melodi gets one free action
Level 60: Timespace Power(active) MP cost: 50 Cooldown: 8 turns Buffs self with 50% extra damage dealt and reduces 25% damage taken, extra damage decays by 10% each turn and reduced damage decays by 5% each turn.
It's all done.
calculated that Illusion Power's damage output with (User's current Speed Factor - Target Speed Factor)*0.05*MAG is actually a bit lacking [1:07:07 PM | Edited 1:07:24 PM] Dualer/Halico: Wave blast at lv35 with speed factor of 24: 168 damage vs CON to 3 targets
Illusion power at lv35 with speed factor of 24, enemy speed factor of 8, and 112 MAG: 89.6 true damage to one target [1:08:19 PM] Dualer/Halico: coupled with much higher MP cost(5 vs 60)
Phantasmagoria Capturing Web with MAG/(level*#enemies hit).. lv1 vs 3 enemies: 3 damage lv60 vs 3 enemies with 187 MAG: 1 damage
damage curves down [1:12:50 PM] Dualer/Halico: but okay [1:14:40 PM] Dualer/Halico: now if I put a +50% userlevel.. [1:14:53 PM] Dualer/Halico: lv1 vs 3 enemies: 3 damage lv60 vs 3 enemies with 187 MAG: 31 damage
(200%User's current Speed Factor - Target Speed Factor)*0.05*MAG. hm..... and MP cost is damage dealt/10.. [1:22:07 PM] Dualer/Halico: Wave blast at lv35 with speed factor of 24: 168 damage vs CON to 3 targets
Illusion power at lv35 with speed factor of 24, enemy speed factor of 8, and 112 MAG: 224 true damage to one target with 23MP cost [1:22:19 PM] Spriter: hmmm [1:22:29 PM] Spriter: seems to be fairer
at lv40 maxMP would prolly be 140 [2:40:35 PM] Dualer/Halico: and recharge 40MP per action [2:40:56 PM] Dualer/Halico: takes 4 turns from 0MP and will overcharge to 160 [2:41:39 PM] Dualer/Halico: at lv60 maxMP is prolly 207 recharge 60 MP per action takes 4 actions from 0MP and charges to 240MP

Name: Eva Lee-McKenna Title: The Awakened Class: Rogue Gender: Female Species: Human
Eva is a peculiar woman, especially for the time, believing strongly in her identity whilst maintaining a cold disposition against those who would make presumptions about her otherwise. Black hair of a slightly dry nature falls to her shoulders and her eyes are a sharp hazel, contrasting her darkly tanned- or perhaps charred and singed- skin.
I was just thinking about that. I'll approve everyone, but there should be more variety in the group. Halico seems to be making an Apprentice, but a Saint would be helpful... This is not going to be easy in the slightest.
