Once you read the title, you probably expected some kill it - like game, this however is nothing of the sort.
There is combat, yes, but much of this game will be based around (a suitably mysterious, I hope) story and puzzles, and the combat itself should be unlike anything in other games. All you have to do is input an action, I would like some professionalism, but trolling will be dealt with in a...creative way. This is not an excuse to troll. I would appreciate if you would not ruin this game simply because I am the author.
You are to input an action, a very detailed and hopefully creative action. For example, you are in a hallway filled with doors, you could do a "bad" action and "open a door", or you could "carefully, slightly open one of the doors and look what is behind it", or better yet "kick the door open and burst in the room". doesn't end there, you can screw all that and "investigate the door itself closer" , "count all the doors" etc. Even in combat, you will not be given any options to begin with and the things you can do will be realistic, you can do a "bad" action and "attack the enemy" , or "aim and shoot two arrows at the enemy's knees, then swing your sword at his neck while he deals with the injuries".
Now then, let the games begin!
You are a wanderer, hailing from a distant village or town, you would describe your place of origin more, but it holds only bland memoirs, your life did not truly start until you left it. Ever since that day, you've been trekking across the lands, you have seen acts of greatness and villainy, and witnessed the beauty and harshness of nature. You appreciate this way of life.
A few days ago, your journey brought you to a desert, you've been through at least three deserts already. And so, began passing through it...but this desert was like no other. It feels unnatural, there is no beauty here, no matter how hard you look, nothing natural about it, but you cannot see what is wrong. As time passes, you feel...different, and think differently, you feel your life meaningless, futile, you will not be remembered by anyone for what you're doing, and without a legacy, what is the purpose of life?
From the distance, you see a large structure in an open, flat area, and do the logical thing and approach it. Unlike the rest of the desert, the ground around it is made of polished rocks, untouched by the sands. You inspect it...it is an arena! You know this, you've seen many like it in large cities. A place of great entertainment: sparring, mortal combat, games for the young, plays, historic reenactments, concerts...but these have never been quite your kinds of places. You walk in front of one of the entrances, the building looks abandoned and yet untouched by time. Will you enter the coliseum, inspect your surroundings closer, find another entrance, see what lurks beyond this one...or something completely different?
many flasks of water
Several flasks of wine
Several rations of food
Iron shortsword
Bow and many arrows
Deserter outfit
Flute
Book
Many flasks of water - You always keep around water for your journeys, it isn't just plain water either, you have been to some amazing sources of it.
Several flasks of wine - You expected rum? Pirate scum.
Several rations of food - not too enjoyable really, you focus on getting long-lasting foodstuffs instead of good-tasting ones.
Iron shortsword - When the time for combat is nigh, or when you must hunt to provide for yourself, a man is useless without tools for the job.
Bow and many arrows - Fun fact, samurai warriors were actually masters of the bow, and only used their blades in emergency situations and for suicide, you aren't a samurai though.
Deserter outfit - Keeps you cold in areas too warm and warm in areas too cold, but the stench....ugh.
Flute - Recreational activites for days without company...you aren't that good at playing this, but love it.
Book - Literature for a fine specimen such as yourself, definitely not of pornographic nature...nope.

You proceed to experiment the monthods of torturing oneself. Eventually you overdo it, you die. your corpse vanishes soon with time, and a wanderer just like you arrives in front of the colliseum after years pass.

You enter the Coliseum while walking backwards. You then take the book for some...inspiration and slam it against your face. Whoops.
You inspect your surroundings. You are in the outer perimeter of the Coliseum, a large circular tunnel that runs around the whole thing. In front of you is an entrace....but slabs upon slabs of stone block it completely...you see a very small part of the entrance that was not covered, perhaps you could take a look?
The air is very humid, you feel the source of it is to your left.
Night falls soon.

As you gaze through the hole, you see....nothing? Complete blackness, the hole is not large enough for you to touch it.
You glance to the left. You see a fork in the road not far ahead, but one of the forked paths is smaller, indicating it is not the main one. You reason that the main one is just an empty circular path, but there might be more side-paths along it. It's a bit hard to see what lies behind the smaller path.
