The first fan-character is called Rika Isoni. Rika is a young schoolgirl who meets up with some of the Maho Shoujos and decides to come along with them. She also thinks about making a contract with Kyubey, but isn't sure if she should or not, even though both Jo and Kyubey persuade her at times.
In my dream that I got the idea for this fan-manga, Rika was actually "Me," I changed her name for various reasons. Rika seemed like a good name for her. I don't have much else to say about Rika though.

The second girl is named Jo Ayara, and she happens to be the most interesting character in this fan-series. Jo Ayara is an Elite Maho Shoujo who is vastly different from most of the others. She made a contract with Kyubey long ago, and in this series, she makes friends with Rika and decides to take her along with her.

Jo is a young girl with short brown hair. She tends to stay in her "powered up" form all the time. In her "powered up" form, she wears a light-gray Maid Outfit, and black shoes with sharp points on the end used for delivering kicks that impale. She has two Maho Shoujo weapons. Her first one is a Metal Magician's Staff with a silver orb on one end, and a sharp blade shaped like a giant Needle on the other end. Her second ones are these smaller Needles, which she spawns to her hand and throws like daggers. Her Soul Gem, while in its "portable form," attaches onto her back, on the area right below her neck.

Jo's unique special ability is a myriad of Elemental Attacks. Its her special power, like Homura's Time Control and Mami's yellow ribbons are. Jo can fire powerful blasts of various elements (Fire, Electricity, Ice, Wind, Earth etc). She uses them in her attacks, and often times uses multiple elements at a time to combine their effects. She can fire them from either her body, or from her staff, though it usually is more powerful when fired from her staff.

Jo has a number of things that makes her very different from the other Shoujos. The first thing is that she is actually happy that she made a Contract. All the other Shoujos think of the Contract as a curse, but Jo finds it to be a gift. She is happy about it because making the contract gave her amazing special powers, and now she cannot be killed by conventional means (only destroying her Soul Gem will kill her now). Plus she loves the thrill and adventure and excitement involved when she has to go into the various Witch Barriers and face off against the various Evil Witches herself, it's so exciting to her. Finally, she thinks that Kyubey's motives to essentially preserve usable emotional energy is a just cause, and she wishes to help him with that. Not only that, but she also has a bunch of friends now, of the other Maho Shoujo's, and she likes that. This playful, and optimistic nature of her is what kept her as a Maho Shoujo for so long. Unfortunately though, it doesn't last forever, and soon she does fall into despair.

Jo almost acts like a Zealot to Kyubey's cause. She claims that making a contract isn't as bad as it seems, after all ,you even get a free wish, alongside these special powers and everything. She is aware that she might become an Evil Witch herself, but that isn't too big of a problem for her. After all, all she has to do to avoid becoming a Witch is just "be happy," which is easy for her because she is very optimistic and playful and kind. Throughout this fan-series, Jo tries to also persuade Rika into making a contract, although she doesn't pressure Rika into doing it, like Kyubey himself does. Rika does consider it from all these benefits, but knowing the other consequences, she has second thoughts, and doesn't completely agree that it is a good idea.

Another unique feature about Jo involves her Soul Gem abilties. If you remember, the Maho Shoujos can survive even fatal wounds, and cannot feel pain, as long as their Soul Gem is not destroyed, and remains within 100 meters of them. Like they can be stabbed, decapitated, shot, and other stuff, but as long as the Gem remains intact, it won't kill them. The original Maho Shoujos only merely used this ability to survive longer in battle. Jo, however, managed to find another good use for this Semi-Immortality. This isn't exactly a unique ability for Jo. All of the Maho Shoujos could probably do what Jo is doing, but they just choose not to. Jo simply found a much more effective means of using her Soul Gem powers.

After Kyubey explained to Jo about how her Soul Gem keeps her alive, Jo got creative and decided to use this in another useful manner. She used the blade-end of her staff to cut her whole self apart, and then installed these custom-made, thin, metal Brackets in between the spaces, then reattached them all. These Brackets come in pairs and are in between various spaces of her body, and the way they are made prevents the skin from reattaching when her Soul Gem heals her. That way, they stay physically separated, and are only held in place by a bonding that is somewhat loose. They are not too noticeable on her, especially since they are thin, and her clothing covers most of them. Jo has brackets on all the useful areas for them. Her brackets are in-between her neck, waist, shoulders, wrists, ankles, and the joints in between her hips and upper legs.

The advantage to this Bracket thing is that Jo can make herself split apart, and have all her severed limbs move individually, and then she can pull herself together whenever she desires. Normally a Maho Shoujo would have to cut themselves with their weapons every time they'd want to do this. Thanks to Jo's custom Brackets though, she can just make them pop off and on whenever. Her Soul Gem keeps her alive through this, and she can still move her detached body parts, as long as they remain within range of the Gem. It took her some practice to get used to this, but now she is extremely talented at this strategic bodily disassembly and reassembly. Perhaps she's a bit too used to it, as for she likes to fall apart too much, and that happens to her almost on a daily basis. She always keeps herself together when in public though, as to not scare others. But when she's among friends who know her, or by herself, she much rather perfers her limbs not being attached. The most common one for her is that she removes her head and carries it in her arms instead. Jo also has a suitcase full of spare Brackets. Should her limbs be completely destroyed, and she has to regerenate it completely, she can just install a spare one later so that she can keep disassembling herself. Also the Brackets on her arms and legs are labeled "Left" and "Right." This is so that when Jo is putting herself back together, she knows which is which and doesn't accidentally put them on backwards.

There are a number of advantages to Jo's special skill to fall to pieces at will. One advantage is quickly dodging through detachment. Like say a projectile is headed for her face. Then she can just remove her head, let the projectile pass by harmlessly, and then stick it back on. Another use is that it allows her to be in multiple places at a time, well at least some of her. She has a battle tactic for this called "Divide and Conquer" where she removes her limbs and let them fire her weapons at the enemy from another location, while the rest of her runs around somewhere else, serving as a distraction. She also uses it in battle by pulling off her head, charging it up with elemental energy, then throwing it at her enemy like a cannonball, causing it to do severe elemental damage to the foe. Also it is useful for her as for her individual pieces can fit into narrow or tight areas much more easily. When not in battle, she also uses this in other ways for fun, like tossing her head around, or detaching her lower half and having the two play around separately. All of this is how she abuses the fact that she can no longer be killed this way, thanks to her Soul Gem.

All of these qualities makes Jo an extremely skilled Maho Shoujo. She could easily outperform Sayaka and Kyouko, and is about evenly matched with Mami, but Homura could still easily overpower her.

The First Evil Witch they face against is Glacia, the Winter Witch. Glacia is this massive, icy Witch who's main self resembles a solid blue ghostly being of some sort. However, this is hidden from view by an icy outer shell. Her icy outer body has multiple spikes, large wings, and claw-like hands that float kind of like Rayman's hands. She also has one eye and no legs (she floats). To harm her, you have to break off her ice outer body, and expose her true form, which is vulnerable. However, she can regenerate her armored outer shell over time, so you have to be quick. Also she is rather weak to fire.

Glacia's nature is of Illusory Superiority. She thinks that "she's the strongest," despite the fact that she really isn't, and in fact, she isn't too smart. She kills others as a means of trying to prove to others that she is powerful. Anyone who is killed by her are turned into her minions, which are these ice-sculpture like things. Her Witch Barrier is like a massive cold Ice Palace.

Her minions are called Gregories and Harriets. They are the souls of people that she and her other minions have killed, now frozen inside of these ice sculpture bodies. They look like whoever they were before, except they have no legs (they float), have emotionless faces that don't change expression, and have sharp, ice dagger like appendages in place of their arms. The male ones are "Gregories" and the female ones are "Harriets." They serve to guard the barrier and attack others. They actually dislike their work, but have no choice but to do so, as for Glacia threatens to torture and harm them if they don't.

A unique feature about her minions is that they cannot move while in a direct line of sight. If you have them in your view, they remain completely motionless, like statues. However, if you look away, or even blink, they start moving, and really fast too. Thier behavior is similar to that of the Weeping Angel Statues from Dr. Who, or SCP-173 from the SCP Foundation series, or Endermen from Minecraft, or those Round Ghost-like Monsters from Mario, if you are familiar with any of those.

Thier strategy to attack others is to wait till they look away, which allows them to move, beeline them till they get close, and then try to impale the opponent with their ice dagger arms. Also none of them appear in the boss room of this Witch Barrier, as for Glacia's line of sight also prevents them from moving too. However, there is like dozens of them all over the place in the other various places in the barrier.

The Second Evil Witch they fight is Lydia, the Night Witch. Lydia is actually from Jamey's game, and I guess must've wandered into my subconscious that night, but she was a bit different here. Lydia is one of the not-so-humanoid Witches. She resembles a massive ship of some sort, crossed with a bat, and she is mostly black. She has these Weapon Outlet-like things on her too, which have her name spelled out on them, in Madoka Runes.

Lydia's nature is of getting lost. She mostly sends out strange signals in and out of her barrier, which others hear and are usually confused by them. She is an extremely hostile Witch and rather powerful too. Lydia attacks with massive Energy Blast salvos, and giant sound blasts strong enough to knock someone down. She also has an attack where she emits a high-pitched screeching noise that is extremely loud and makes it hard to focus. Another feature about this Witch is that she is blind, and relies on an enhanced Radar/Sonar-like Sense in order to see. This makes her good at finding others, but it can also be used against her, as for if something were to be done to overload her Radar-like Senses, it would stun her long enough to leave her vulnerable.

Her barrier is this very dark, cloudy realm, with little light, and geometric shape-like structures for buildings and caves. A large cube-shaped structure in the barrier serves as the boss room where Lydia awaits. Throughout the barrier, you can hear strange signals and noises that are being made by her, some that almost seem like messages or something. As you get closer to the focus of the barrier, the noises become louder and more frequent, and almost haunting.

She has two types of minions. The first type are called Signas, which are these small Drone-Ship like things that she sends out. Their duty is to make more signals and help spread them out. They also make odd noises when they are close by, but not like the ones Lydia produces. They also swoop and lash out at intruders, and often times attack in large overwhelming swarms. Her second type, which she has only one of, is a massive Centipede-like minion called Terrance. Terrance is like Lydia's bodyguard, standing guard outside Lydia's chamber and fights anyone who tries to get in. Terrance can be considered like a MiniBoss of some sort, right before the boss battle against the Witch herself, Lydia.

Also another thing. At the part where Lydia is dying, right before the Witch Barrier collapses with her and her Grief Seed is dropped, the strange noises and signals turn into incomprehensible static.

The last Evil Witch they confront is another one called Kolour, the Puppet Witch. Kolour didn't have a name in my dream, but Jamey suggested this name after I told her about it. I thought the name sounded cool, and went with it.

She has a private nature, and like all Evil Witches have a unique art style to them, Kolour's is a bit more unique. Kolour, her barrier, and minions, are drawn in a medium-quality CGI style (sort of like the CGI graphics are in a typical N64 game). Kolour is a large being who is mostly blue, yellow, and white, but with multicolored patches and bandages all over her. She has a Ball-Bearing wheel for legs, and her head looks kind of like a mask with a pointed beak nose with a hook on the end. She also has 4 arms, two as big as her, and two that are human-sized, and she is wearing a bow on her neck, and a red headband too.
In battle, she shoots energy balls from her hands that can change direction in midair, and also fires powerful beams from her eyes. However, she isn't a very hostile Witch, and spends most of her time making stuff at this large workbench in her personal chamber.

Her minions are called Lalas, and they resemble little patched together, stuffed dolls with all-black eyes. There are 3 variants of them. The first are the Worker Lalas, which work in the massive factory/workshop of her barrier, and are most numerous. They continuously make various appliances and other dolls like them using materials and machinery they are given. They work nonstop. Even if one gets killed or gets caught in the machinery and processed into an appliance, which happens often due to how hazardous this machinery in this Witch Barrier is, they just get another one to replace the lost one, and then continue working as if nothing ever happened. They do not even pay attention to others who wander into the barrier, just keep working. The dolls they make among their stuff look just like them too.

Once the worker Lalas are finished with a batch of items, they go and present them to Kolour herself. However, more often than not, their finished work is defective, and they fail. When they do, Kolour tells them to get back to work, and then destroys the unwanted items with her energy blasts. However, when it does meet expectations, she congradulates them and then tells them to return to work. She then takes the appliances and puts it in her storage for them. Then she takes the completed dolls, uses some sort of magic on them, and brings them to life, as more Lala minions (that's how they are created). The new minions then run off and join the others in their work. Kolour herself also makes stuff like this at her workbench, but her Worker Lalas help speed up the process.

The other variants of these minions only appear in the boss chamber of the barrier, and not in the other areas. These ones are the ones that actually fight. The first one are the melee variants, which wear blue outfits and carry sharp lances for battle. The last one are the ranged variants, which wear black outfits and a pointy witch hat. The ranged variants carry a deck of cards with razor-sharp edges, which they throw at enemies like Ninja Stars. Kolour summons both types to help fight for her in the battle against her.

Her Witch Barrier is like a massive magic factory and workshop, where the Worker Lalas are all working. To get to the boss room of the barrier, you have to navigate through the machinery in a massive labyrinth of it. Since the Worker Lalas ignore outsiders in the Barrier, you don't have to worry about them. What you do have to worry about is the dangerous machinery in the factory, which even they often get killed by. Just watch your step and try to navigate through all the devices and stuff. Essentially, its like a massive production line, and if it weren't a Witch Barrier, it would probably get sued for unsafe practices. The main part of the barrier is a chamber where Kolour works at her workbench and also stops to judge the work of her minions.

This barrier is unique in that for once, the Minions aren't all actively trying to kill you. Instead, its like a massive factory fused with a trap-filled maze that you have to get through in order to reach the target. Then once you're at the center, the real battle begins.
