As long as IE is in the works...

Today in Spotlight: Dicearm - The Essence Thief.

Dicearm is a very weird, highly tanky hero that specializes in enemy disuption. Wherever he goes, people go away from.

His Q is Essence Theft. This is a single-target channeling ability that steals HP and MP from an enemy over the duration of 1 second. This may indeed overheal Dice above his maximum hp, but that bonus decays quickly. Alternatively, casting this on an ally will transfer mana from Dicearm to them, albeit at a slower rate. This ability is core to Dice' HP/MP circulation, so invest at least one point in it.

His W is Essence Shield. This skill is a toggleable buff that absorbs incoming damage, draining MP instead of HP. The damage-to-mana ratio starts out rather high, but becomes manageable as you level this skill. As it's also central to Dice' build, it's recommended to max it out first or second.

His passive E is Contamination. This passive skill affects all nearby enemies. Affected enemies are damaged and revealed, every time they cast a spell. The damage increases with proximity to Dicearm.

Dice's ultimate is Phoenix Conversion. This is a toggleable ability that rapidly burns Dice's HP to replenish his MP. While active, it also burns all adjacent enemies.

Tactics:

- Dice excells as a raw Health-pool tank. Ironically though, this stems from his incredibly large mana pool. Use this to your advantage by buying items to minimize enemy damage and maximize your mana. Ether Cores and Navarro are your best friends.

- Essence Theft is not just great to heal yourself or deal early damage. The mana steal allows you to keep powerfull spellcasters like Minte or VR in check. In reverse, use excess mana to sustain the same spellcasters on your team.

- Show your presence when fighting heroes that love to enter stealth, like IE, Zarro or Dabir. Contamination will hamper their ability to exit the combat with stealth.

- In general, nudge as close as possible to enemy spellcasters. Phoenix Conversion will force them to move, while the proximity will ensure maximum Contamination damage if they try to pull escape moves. This makes you great at chasing down fleeing spellcasters.

- You are very reliable on allied support for your continued existence. Team up with Minte and Zax for quick mana, with Fox for incredible pushes and Dice or Meta for general tankiness.

- Be careful! Silence disables Phoenix Conversion. This may leave you in a hairy situation.

Aaaand there he is!

Today in Spotlight: Infinity's End - The Phantom.

IE is the game's first certifiable, physical damage assassin. His role is to infiltrate the enemy team invisibly, sow paranoia and confusion, before striking and disappearing in a wake of illusions.

His Q is Wake of Illusions. Upon activation IE briefly disappears, returning with an escort of 3 perfect illusions of himself. Those illusions last only a short time, deal only a fraction of IE's damage and possess no active abilities, but are also almost imprevious until their natural timeout.

His W is Ominous Presence. Upon activation IE begins to cloak, which takes a short amount of time. While in this state, he exhudes an aura of terror around himself, alerting affected enemies and slowing their movement speed. Taking too much damage at once will decloak him. Alternatively, you can break stealth by attacking, which will deal extra damage.

His passive E is Death Mark. This is a passive skill that increases his attack damage against heroes and twice as much against minions. Additionaly, any damage against an enemy under 20% of it's maximum HP is amplified.

IE's ultimate is Paradox Stasis. This is a targeted spell that affects an enemy hero, rooting them in place and freezing their attack for a few seconds. Enemies affected by Paradox Stasis take amplified damage from Death Mark regardless of their current HP.

Tactics:

- Master the use of your Q. You do not possess much HP or any other defensive stats. Q allows you to fake out single-target disables, or with expert timing, AoE spells.

- Death Mark and Ominous Presence are your most powerful tools when a low-hp enemy tries to escape. Remember that Death Mark will amplify the stealth break damage if the target is on low enough health.

- Death Mark also makes you exceptionally powerful at brute-force minion wave clearing, as your last hits are guaranteed to kill any minion under 20% HP. Use this to your advantage when fighting large waves, or summoner heroes.

- Ominous Presence puts a noticeable buff over the enemy's head when you are nearby. It alerts them to your presence, but not your location. Use this to bait the enemy team into wasting their AoE spells as they fire blindly trying to uncloak you. Make them paranoid.

- Never forget that your illusions benefit from Death Mark, allowing you to deal significant damage while out of sight. Their blocking value also provides an effective shield to stall Siege Golems.

- Paradox Stasis immobilizes and stops enemy attack, it does not prevent them from spellcasting. This is incredibly important to remember when trying to ambush spellcasters.

- Trying to go invisible around Dicearm is a very bad idea. Contamination WILL reveal you and getting too close will spike the damage high enough to decloak you outright.

Next.

Today in Spotlight: Frankenfield - The Troll Knight.

Frankenfield is a dual hero-carry. He specializes in dealing damage and staying alive above all else.

His Q is Gungnir. This is a single-target spell that deals magical damage to a target and temporarily reduces their armor severely.

His W is Berserk. When activated it gives a significant attack and movement speed boost. Each level of this skill increases its duration.

His E is Hungry Blade. This skill throws a magical blade in the target area, damaging all units hit. A third of the damage dealt is absorbed as HP.

Frankenfield's ultimate is Genesis. This ability increases Frankenfield's HP regeneration to an insane rate and also increases his attack damage.

Tactics:

- The armor reduction of Gungnir is incredibly high. Use it in conjunction with physically adept allies to quickly decimate priority targets.

- Buy Boots of Speed. Used together with Berserk it provides you with very high chasing and fleeing capabilities, effectively allowing you to hit-and-run enemies.

- Hungry Blade has no healing cap. Be wise whether to throw it at a lone target or in a group of irrelevant enemies for larger heal.

- Genesis effectively allows you to bait enemies into attacking you even if they're unable to kill.
