Welcome to the forums. I tend to blow things up because people ask me to. Some bosses made me feel furious! Outraged! Sick with anger! Luckily they've been rare, since I like fighting people's stuff most of the time (but all that's another story that I don't want to ramble on about). Also I take forever at making my own bosses. =x
And don't worry about being terrible at shooters now. You'll get better with practice.

Oh, I don't plan on getting any better at shooters, just at making them. I tend to spend more time a given video game's editor than the game itself. I suppose now that I've joined this forum I should actually finish something and post it
